We begin the educational New Year with good news that our 2020 graduates have achieved a 99% university offer rate, for course ranging from Medicine and Chemical Engineering to Dentistry and Psychology. I had the opportunity to catch up with some of our students who were offered these places. Their big smiles made me very happy at the Last Roll Call Program where recent graduates come back and talk to current year 10’s and 12’s. Here, they are given advice that they would not get from anyone else and they all listen because it’s their age group. This is a joint program between the Alumni Dept. and Careers Dept. as we utilise it as an excursion to help the current students get a clearer understanding of their career goals. When a student has direction, rather than not knowing what they are doing or why they are doing it, success is possible.
